I joined the Parkettes when I was a freshman in 1965. I was priviledged to participate for two years. I consider those years as a Parkette and a Hermit to be some of my fondest high school memories. I loved the girls and the places we traveled. As I watch the Vikings game now on TV today I am reminded of those football games we cheered at, paving the way for other teams to eventually have professioal cheerleaders. Pretty amazing! The Rosebowl Parade and all of the other venues we danced at was a very exciting time. Firsts, again, flying on a plane to Californis, seeing Sonny and Cher in a basement coffee house that Mrs. Libby booked for us. Going to Chicago to perform and going to the theatre to see Barefoot in the Park. This group was amazing because our dance instructor had vision, clout with her contacts and a no nonsense attitude. I am so glad I was a part of this history and would love it if anyone I knew back then contacted me by email, instagram or facebook. I moved from MPLS in 1967 to Kansas where I graduated from Shawnee Mission South High School. I went to Kansas University where I met my husband of 50 years! We have three children, 6 grandchildren and have enjoyed a very rewarding and happy life. We moved to Tucson Az after retirement and love to call this home now! Thanks to whoever keeps this website up, it's a fun walk down memory lane. Sincerely, Linda Kruenegel nee Sasse
